May is Preservation Month!

Celebrate the month by visiting a church, a historic home, a park, a museum, or a cultural institution. Enjoy a space that makes your town or city beautiful, interesting, and worth caring about. Everywhere and everyone in this storied country should have one special place. Find yours.

The National Trust for Historic Preservation launched This Place Matters campaign in 2008.

The National Trust encourages people to print out a sign reading “This Place Matters.” Place the sign in front of your favorite local site and take a picture.  Then, share your photograph with like-minded folks through Instagram or Twitter.

May is not over yet . Print out the sign, find a place—it can be lovely or decrepit— in your hometown, and share it with the virtual world.
